A light sigh escaped the lips if one Elliot Knight. Instead of being in his "Kyd Wykkyd" outfit, he was wearing a pair of dark jeans and a t-shirt. Of course, that was the only thing different about him today. As per usual, well since he had been unfrozen, he was once again out looking for his best friend Angelique. He had been looking for days, weeks, maybe even months. He wasn't actually too sure about how long he had been looking for her, only that he had been looking.
Sure, other things had been going on in Jump City. There was lots of Titans action going on, which was all fun and whatnot, but Elliot's first priority was finding Angel. She was his best friend, after all, but she was also a very likely target for most heroes to go after. She was too sweet and trusting when it came to heroes and her fighting ability was...well...it was just best if Elliot was around her most of the time to protect her and keep her safe.
Of course he had done a horrible job of that when he had convinced her to join the Brotherhood of Evil and had gotten them split up. Sure, it was an accident, but the two of them hadn't been around each other and to be honest, he hadn't been around to keep her safe like he wanted to and like her told her he would. Elliot beat himself up about that as often as possible, although working with the H.I.V.E. Five was fun, he was still without his best friend.
Then he was stupid and believed that their old team leader Jinx had returned to help him and the rest of the team against the Titans. Sadly, she wasn't and was instead there to help with her new boy toy Kid Flash. Then, Kyd was flash frozen which was not fun in the slightest.
It was quite some time since he was flash frozen, but once he got out the only thing he could think about was finding his best friend. And here he was still searching.
C'mon, Angel, where are you? He thought to himself as his eyes searched the skies almost frantically. Then, he saw what he had been searching for. Large, white feathered wings that were too beautiful to belong to any bird. Quickly, Elliot shot off like a rocket in the same direction that she was flying. He'd keep running until he passed out or she landed, he didn't really care which one happened first.
"ANGEL!" He exclaimed, waving both of his arms about frantically, trying to get her attention. The pain in his throat was not as bad as the pain in his heart.

She flitted through the air, a smile on her face as the wind whipped by her, slipping into her white wings as they flapped behind her, soaring gracefully in the air. There were no cops chasing her, no one after her, so she could take her time, flying leisurely through the air as she scooped out the sky, molding it to the conforms of herself as she flew, enjoying herself, despite the fact that her whole day had turned out to be a complete waste of time.
Angel had spent the day searching for her friend, hoping to happen upon Elli somewhere if she looked hard enough. In truth, considering she stuck out far more, he would likely find her, rather than the other way around, but she couldn’t just sit there and wait for him to come to her! No way! She had try to find him, at minimum! So, helmetless, donning sunglasses, baggy sweatshirt and belting (literally, with a belt, which had not been fun) her wings to her body, she had spent her whole day out, looking for her friend, hoping that she’d spot him.
Unlikely, considering his eerie way of blending into the background, but she could try.
So, now, with her sweatshirt tucked in the crook of her arms, sunglasses in its pocket, as her short black hair blew in the wind, she flew, making plans for another day. She couldn’t look for him every day, of course, considering that Deathstroke had her on beck and call, but there wasn’t anything tomorrow that she could think of, so another day could be spent doing that.
It was only the fact that she was flying at a lower altitude that she normally did (mostly because there was no one after her) that caused the shout to reach her ears. Was that… her name? Turning her head slightly, the meta-human narrowed her eyes slightly as she saw someone racing along in the same direction as her, waving their arms about. Were they… trying to call her?
Suspicious of an ambush, though wondering if it were one of the H.I.V.E. members, or someone from the Brotherhood of Evil, Angel drifted downward, the first thing that she was able to realize as she got closer was that the person was male, and, secondly… It was Elliot.
Her eyes lit up (not that anyone could tell, being the featureless orbs that they were), and a smile stretched across her face, as she sped up to her quickest speed, which was superhuman. “ELLI!” she called, stopping a foot away (so she didn’t hit him at impact speed), and darting forward the last few couple of steps, throwing her arms around his neck and curling her head into him.
…Thank god… They had finally found each other…

Elliot continued to run and try to get Angel's attention. The poor guy was about to pass out by the time she finally realized he was down there. He watched with his eagle eyes as she looked down at him. She was skeptical, which made sense in Elliot's mind. She had every right to be skeptical. It wasn't like he went around yelling people's names all the time.
Gah! Angel was taking far too long in getting down to him. He wondered how long it would take her to realize that it was --
It wasn't but a few seconds later that Elliot saw a large smile form on her face before she darted down towards the ground. Elliot began to worry, hoping that she wouldn't forget to slow down and smash herself face first into the ground.
A relieved sigh escaped his lips as she slowed down and stopped about a foot away from him before she yelled his name. He grinned and didn't even have time to hold his arms open before she had her face in his chest and her arms around him.
Elliot wrapped his arms around her without hesitation and buried his face into her hair as he held her close. He smiled happily and continued to hug her close. Even if she was done hugging him, he was certainly not done hugging her. She was his best friend. The only person aside from his parents who he even cared about. No one would ever get between them.
He wanted to tell her how sorry he was for getting them flash frozen and split up. He wanted to tell her how much he had missed her. He wanted to tell her how happy he was to finally see her. Elliot wanted to tell her many things but for one thing the words couldn't form and for another, something told him that she already knew how sorry and happy he was.

It was… nice. Safe in this hug, in Elli’s arms as he buried his face in her hair and held her close. Most of those that only knew Kyd Wykkyd, like the Teen Titans, and not of their awesome friendship, would’ve likely been surprised at the stoic villain holding her close, but she wasn’t. He was her best friend, the most important person to her period, and she had missed him so freaking much.
Angel rested her head on the taller boy’s chest, letting out a small sigh of happiness as she breathed in the scent that was uniquely him, smiling. Thank goodness he was alright. She didn’t know what she would’ve done. Shifting slightly, she found herself amused as he continued to hold on to her. He wasn’t gonna let her go, was he? It was probably worse for him, as he was the older between the two, and definitely the stronger, but… Ah, it was just nice to be with him.
“You’re gonna have to let go of me eventually, ya know,” she remarked, smiling, but she made no physical protest, instead making herself fit snugly against his body, the place that she belonged. This was… This was… Tension that she hadn’t even realized was there was released from her body, and she slumped against him, feeling relief really fill her.
“God, Elli…” she murmured, thanking every single deity that could possibly exist that he was here with her, and that she wasn’t alone out there anymore, being alternatively terrified and trained by a psychotic supervillian with her sort-of friend/ally Phantom, and was now safe in his arms. No one could touch her here. “It’s so good to see you again…”
And that was totally the understatement of the century. Like saying that Hayden Christensen was simply a bad actor.

Elliot continued to hold his friend. There was 99.9% chance that he wasn't about to let go of her so soon. He cared a lot for his young friend and hadn't seen her in the longest time. He cared for her far too much to just let her go after a few seconds of hugging.
Had the outside world known that Kyd Wykkyd was hugging someone, there was a good chance half of them would probably explode at the thought. Most people didn't think it was possible for the silent villain to care about other people. People often referred to him as emotionless and to be honest, well...he sort of was, but Angel was the one exception and she always would be.
After a moment, Elliot felt Angel shift a bit in his grasp. He didn't loosen in the slightest. He wasn't about to let someone run by and take her from him so soon (not that any moron would have even been able to last if they had tried).
“You’re gonna have to let go of me eventually, ya know,” came Angel's voice to Elliot. He didn't even look down at her or move; he continued to hold her as if saying," I'll let go of you when I fricken feel like it." Elliot only spoke to Angel, but at the time after yelling for her, his throat was more sore than usual. Of course he'd talk to her when he needed to.
Then the emotionless villain felt his friend relax against him. A grin formed on his face as he continued to hold her. He heard the nickname that she had given him and his smile grew before he gently, and slowly, removed his arms from around her. He looked down at her and smiled before he kissed her forehead, as if responding to her statement about how good it was to see him with his own. He was telling her that he missed her too and he was so glad to have her back.

…And of course he ignored her. Honestly, Angel really wasn’t surprised by that, because he seemed to have a tendency to do that, which could be really freaking annoying at times. Why did she put up with that? But in this case, it really wasn’t bad. After all, she had finally found her best friend (it really hadn’t been super long, honestly, but between getting separated by the Brotherhood, and then dealing with Deathstroke, she was just ridiculously thankfully), and he was hugging her. Not like he was being paranoid and checking her for injuries or anything like that.
…Shoot, had to stop thinking that. The girl swore he could read minds sometimes.
Blinking in surprise as he removed his arms (for it seemed like he wasn’t going to let go of her now, not for quite a long time), she glanced up at him, and returned his smile, honestly very glad to see it. Yes, he showed more emotion around her than anyone else in the world (well… she didn’t know about his family…), but to see such a smile.
Well, it made her very happy.
Simply grinning at the kiss, unembarrassed in the slightest (cause it was Elli! Why would she be embarrassed in front of him?), it struck her, at the moment, that she had no freaking clue what to say. What did one say to their best friend who they were being reunited with?
Naturally, with Angel being Angel, she spouted off quite a few questions. “Have you been fine? Safe? No injuries?” Even if he was the stronger of the two (something which was not just because of their difference in years), she still worried about him. He was her best friend. “What have you being doing? I’ve been looking for you everywhere!”
…And then, the most important question. “Elli… Were you recruited by anyone named ‘Deathstroke’?” She desperately hoped that he hadn’t, that he was free of the supervillain’s leash, but… she didn’t really want to be alone in it, either.

Chuckling silently, Elliot shook his head at his friend as she asked if he had been fine, safe, and didn't have any injuries. He looked into her eyes and nodded his head, letting her know silently that that was his response. He had had a feeling that she had been worrying about him, not that he minded. He had worried about her just as much if not more. She was, after all, his very best friend...and his only friend to be honest.
After a moment, Angel then asked him what he had been doing and exclaimed that she had been looking for him everywhere.
Elliot's jaw dropped before he motioned to himself as if to ask," ME?!" He then pointed to herself as if asking," Where were you?!" He sighed silently and shook his head a moment before pointing to himself, the sky, and then at her to show her that he had been looking for her. He shook his head slightly before grinning. He was glad to know that she had indeed been worried.
Then a worried look flashed across his face as she spoke once more. It wasn't the question that scared him. It was her tone of voice. It let him know far more than she would have. She was scared and somewhat worried. It scared him. He didn't want her to be scared or worried.
Elliot thought of her question and after a moment shook his head to tell her," No." He then sighed and took a deep breath.
"I...I've only...been looking for you..." He trailed off before he rubbed his throat and gazed at her, his eyes asking her why she asked.

Phew, he was all good. ‘Course, with him being Kyd and all, it was a bit of a given, because he was pretty darn good at fighting, but she still worried. “Good!” If he had been injured, she probably would’ve gone all ‘mother-hen’ on him or something, which was a reasonable course of action, but she didn’t have to think of that now.
Letting a giggle escape her lips as her friend’s jaw dropped and he went all full-pantomime mode on her, her smile turned sheepish. “I’ve been trying to travel a bit incognito,” Angel explained, feeling her explanation was a good one. “With all of us that escaped, the Titans will prob be cracking down and all…” She shrugged lightly, the matter not as important to her anymore, now that they were reunited. Yeah, she’d still take care to not be found, but not as much. Because her main goal had been locating Elli.
‘Course, he could totally blend in way easier than she could, which was kind of ridiculous, given the fact that he was as conspicuous as her (wings not counting)… He was like the next Batman or something (villain-Batman, that was).
Though she felt herself wince internally, as she always did when he spoke (who knew how painful that was), Angel breathed a sigh of relief as he denied it. “He’s the new psycho supervillain in town,” she warned, explaining, before she bit her lip, trying to figure out how to tell him. “And when I woke up, he kind of had me, so it was either join him or die.”
But urgh, thank goodness that Elli wasn’t one of those many recruits. Briefly, she wondered how he had gotten out, but considered that all he needed was one moment and he could teleport the heck of out dodge, he had probably gained consciousness for like one moment, and then BOOM, out of there.
Made sense.

Elliot grinned at his friend when she said that it was good that he wasn't hurt or anything. To be honest, he wasn't quite sure what she would do if he had been hurt, other than try to fix his wounds for him, which he would allow her to do, only to make her happy.
In all honesty, Elliot had never really been one for medicines and all that, seeing as he wasn't sure what kind of effect they would have on his strangely powered body. Although he let Angel do whatever she wanted when it came to fixing him up. Sure, it may not have been safe, but who cared? He was going to die one day anyway.
Well that wasn't morbid, he thought to himself before looking back at his friend when she said that she had been trying to travel incognito for a bit. She then made a rather strong point that the Titans were cracking down on the city seeing as the villains had all escaped from their flash frozen states. Her point was fair and Elliot accepted it as he put his hand on her shoulder before she spoke of the man known as Deathstroke.
Elliot's facial features darkened considerably as he heard that the "psycho supervillain" had threatened her. Now he wanted to find this guy and kill him like the dog that he was. Money or no money, this man had threatened his best friend. He then realized that was irrational and shook his head. He needed to think more clearly than that if he wanted to bring down a supervillain...
Those were quite difficult to bring down indeed. None of the supervillains that Elliot had ever heard of were easy, especially the psychotic ones. Those were always more difficult seeing as you would never really know just what they were able to do. As a rule of thumb, though, supervillains usually did whatever it took to win. Elliot had always admired that about them but Elliot wasn't really a killer...not truly, anyway. He wasn't a mercenary, he was a villain...plus, he was only fricken sixteen so how much damage could he really do?
Then an idea struck the young villain. He gazed at Angel a moment and a grin spread onto his lips. Perhaps, to keep her safe, he would join this...Deathstroke person. It would give him something to do and he would be able to keep his eye on Angel. Perhaps... He'd think more about it later when Angel wasn't around to talk him out of it.

As the other placed his hand on her shoulder, Angel smiled, glad he got it. It wasn’t like she had wanted to hide, because she knew that he would most likely find her, and the more conspicuous she was, the better, and there was the added factor that it hurt to have her wings strapped down to her body (they still kind of ached, right now), but she sure as heck hadn’t wanted to be caught. Under normal circumstances, running into a couple Titans? Fine. When she didn’t know where her best friend was, and they were cracking down on the city? Not so much. She still would’ve been okay with meeting like one or two of them, though, and totally kicking their butts in a fight.
…Woah, he was kind of, well, mad, wasn’t he? To anyone else, it probably would’ve been a pretty scary sight, but this was Elli, so she simply frowned slightly, not liking it. He was going to do something stupid, wasn’t he? It was kind of obvious that he really didn’t like it, and while she had to agree on that sentiment, there really wasn’t anything that he could do about it. “He’s taken like a liking to me or whatever, so he’s been training me. I’m totally getting better!”
There, try to make it better than it sounds. It wasn’t, well, that bad, really, even though he scared her, it was more like one of the scarier teachers at H.I.V.E., that was all. …Times like seven, but still, the principle still stood. He didn’t need to worry, or do anything stupid, or-
…And that grin. Oh, dear, he had an idea.
Rolling her eyes in an invisible gesture, Angel spoke, voice disapproving. “Whatever you just thought of, I don’t like it,” she informed him flatly, crossing her arms. Of course, she didn’t know what exactly he had thought of (give her a bit and maybe she could think of it), but that was the same kind of grin that he had had before they joined the Brotherhood, and one that he gained whenever he thought of an idea that she tried to talk him out of.
Granted, it didn’t happen often, but when it did, well… Stuff was gonna hit the fan, that was for sure.

Elliot looked at his best friend as she told him that this Deathstroke guy had taken a liking too her "or whatever" and that he was training her. She said that she was getting better and he raised an eyebrow at her. Why hadn't she ever allowed him to train her?
...well there was the fact that this guy was, well, considerably psychotic according to Angel and he had threatened to kill her. Elliot still didn't like that, but he wasn't too good against psychos. Obviously. Of course, ever since his parents sent him to school he's been in trouble with psychotic people so really, could one more hurt? Probably not? Maybe a little? Meh, as long as it kept Angel safe, who cared?
Elliot chuckled silently as he saw Angel roll his eyes at her smile. He couldn't help it. It was something that she had always done when she was irritated with him or disapproved of him doing something, much like now as she told him that she didn't like whatever he had thought of. So, Elliot just pulled her close and kissed the top of her head, not caring that her arms were crossed. He did it to show her that everything would be fine.
Not that Elliot wanted Angel to know of his plans. It was probably a good thing that the man didn't talk seeing as she would probably beat it out of him. Although since she knew it hurt him to talk, he doubted she'd end up doing that...but he could have easily been wrong about that as well. He wouldn't let her think that anything was up though so she wouldn't have the chance to put the hurt on him... Whatever hurt she could dish out, anyway.
Then he sighed and looked down at her with another raised eyebrow as if asking her if she wanted to go do anything. To be honest, Elliot was up for pretty much anything. He wouldn't mind going for a bite to eat, hitting up an arcade, or causing some innate chaos of some sort because, well, Elliot did love to do that. It was fun. Although it was up to Angel, right now. This was their first reuniting after all.

…Okay, so she knew him well, but she couldn’t decipher everything that he did. It was kind of hard, you know? But it seemed to have something to do with her training, as that was totally the last words out of her mouth, so she elaborated. “Like, more hand-to-hand fighting. So I won’t get smooshed if we’re stuck inside.” It wasn’t the most enjoyable thing ever (who was she trying to kid?), but at least she wouldn’t be an instant pancake if they ended up having to fight inside. Angel ruled the skies, but anywhere else… not so much.
Which left her two, possibly three Titans that she could fight, with the other two able to get potshots at her. All at once? Totally dead. If she just got one of the flying ones? She could handle it. At least now.
Wait, was he laughing at her? She was deadly serious here! He was definitely thinking of something that was not going to end up well, she knew it! But the girl was just pulled forward, and another kiss planted on her head. She sighed lightly. “I’ll make you tell me later…” Angel muttered, though it was clearly without any heat, more a comment that sort of weakly showed that she wasn’t going to give in and be all compliant when he did such an action.
After all, what really could she do to make sure that she got that info out of him? Bugging him to death was one way, but considering they had just found each other, she definitely didn’t want to do that, at least not now. Threatening him, fighting him, just standing there and staring at him (with her luminescent, pupil-less eyes) until he gave in… Yup, she could do any of those, but right now, Angel wanted to hang out with her friend. Not ruin the mood.
It appeared that Elli did, too, judging by the inquiring eyebrow he raised at her. At least she totally got that one. But she didn’t really have an answer for that one, so she shrugged. “Assuming you’re asking me what we’re going to do now?” Angel asked rhetorically, more for specification than anything else, before she considered the question.
“We could head back to my place, I stocked up on cookie supplies, we could hang out incognito, cause I still got some stuff…” Had she had normal ones, her eyes would’ve sparkled at her next statement. “Or we could cause some other people a bit of misery for tonight. Any sound good.” Grinning up at him, cause seriously, any of them sounded fun, from cookies, to just hanging out, to doing ‘villainy’, she continued. “One, two, or three, Elli?”

A silent sigh escaped Elliot Knight's lips as Angel described to him how she was being trained by this Deathstroke character.
Hand-to-hand combat? Interesting, he thought, glad that his friend was getting the attention that she needed when it came to defending herself. It was good that he was teaching her these things, but something made him wonder if it was because the guy cared, or because he wanted to make it look like he cared...
Elliot wasn't sure which one it was. All he knew was that he cared for Angel, and yet he had never taken the time to teach her hand-to-hand combat. He felt like his friendship with her was in jeopardy, even though only slightly. It seemed she was a bit...frightened of the man that she was working with, or for. It made Elliot worry about her which was why he was going to try and reach out to this Deathstroke, assuming he didn't contact him first, especially since he had a feeling that Angel would probably often talk about him.
When Angel informed Elliot that she would make him tell her what he was planning later, he shook his head gently. To be honest, the only thing Angel could do was tickle him to death. He doubted she'd be able to beat it out of him, or be able to catch him if he fled. Elliot was tricky that way as his Kyd Wykkyd counterpart. Being able to disappear and reappear was his forte.
The red eyed teen gazed at his friend as she asked him if he was asking her what they were going to do now. He nodded his head, even if it was rhetorical. It was only rhetorical because he couldn't answer, and he knew it.
To be honest, sometimes it saddened Elliot to know that he wouldn't be able to verbally talk to people very often, mostly his parents and Angel. He wanted to talk to them, he did, but it hurt him so much to do so. Usually if Elliot knows he's going to talk to his parents, he'll be especially silent for almost a week before he calls them up and speaks to them. Sure, it hurts his voice, but he'd much rather be able to talk to his parents for their birthdays or holidays than during any other old time.
Elliot gazed over at his best friend as she spoke once more, letting him know things that she had thought of for them to do. They could head back to her place and apparently make cookies...or they could hang out incognito since she still had some stuff... Elliot raised his eyebrow at her as she trailed off. He was confused by where she was going before she said that they could go cause some other people a bit of misery for the evening. Elliot's eyebrows rose together this time, instead of just one before he smiled. He wrapped his left arm around Angel's shoulder and started walking towards a nearby alley, grinning from ear to ear.
Causing chaos was always more fun when Angel was around.

He didn’t really respond to her description of training, which both slightly worried her and made her wonder what was going on in that head of his. To be honest, she wondered the latter quite a bit of the time, mostly because Elli was so unreadable, even to her, whom she would unashamedly announce knew him the best out of every single person in the world, including the fact that he was a massive inner softie.
…Of course, knowing him better than everyone else wasn’t exactly a hard limit to reach, mind you, with how much he kept to himself.
She frowned at his shake of the head. “Ugh, you can be too secretive sometimes!” the meta-human told him, a bit irritated, but it wouldn’t amount to anything. Honestly, it was just annoying that between the two of them, he shared less (it did make sense, yes, but it didn’t help the feeling), and she barely had a secret in the world between them. Sometimes she didn’t tell him stuff, sure, but it was never important, and if he thought to ask, she’d tell him.
With reluctance, though.
The nod was registered, of course, and Angel was glad that she had figured it out correctly (really, unless Elli went ahead and did the motions that totally proved he should be in the drama industry, communicating was a lot of one-sided chatter, touchy-feelyness, and guesswork). It was kind of hard, having a person who was practically mute be your BFF and the one you talked the most with. You had to end up being pretty observant, and had to think along the logical lines of what he would be asking, so it made her smarter, at the very minimum. Huh. She hadn’t thought about it that way before.
Her grin rose to match Kyd’s own, however, as he encircled her. “Sweet!” she exclaimed, looking forward to this. Stuff was way easier and more fun when there were two of them, plus there was always back-up. Much better. “What’re we up to, then?” Angel asked, proceeding to tick the items off on her fingers.
“Robbing a bank, a store, wreaking destruction, just plain causing havoc and freaking everyone out…” Any of them sounded fabulous, really, and she just wanted to get out there and do something fun. Even though her ideas of fun were definitely a lot more loose than the average person’s.
‘What’re we going to do today, Angel?’
‘The same thing we do every day, Elli.’
‘Try and take over the world?’

Elliot grinned when Angel frowned after he shook his head. She then exclaimed that he could be too secretive sometimes. He heard her irritated tone and knew that she didn't like the fact that he was secretive, but it wasn't really his fault...not truly anyway. His vocal chords would kill him and being not easy to read was a lot more effective when fighting people when he was that way all the time. Sadly, he knew this irritated his friend quite a bit. He had always wanted to make it up to her, but he could never really figure out how. After all, talking hurt him too much and, well, he couldn't not be passive all the time.
Another silent sigh piled up with the rest of them as he thought about it. How could he make it up to her? He could write it down...but then it was possible that someone could see it and get wind of it. He could try and tell her, but his voice still hurt from him shouting at her.
If only you were a telepath, Elliot thought to his friend as he gazed down at her before her grin grew almost as wide as his had when he put his arm around her. He was glad that she had gotten the message and silently chuckled as she exclaimed happily and then asked what they were up to.
“Robbing a bank, a store, wreaking destruction, just plain causing havoc and freaking everyone out…”
Elliot nodded his head. All of these were good choices, but he liked the idea of destroying something. He wasn't sure why, but he just felt especially... destructive that day. He smiled down at his friend and held up three fingers to signal that he wanted to do option number three.
Death and destruction! Well...almost... Mostly destruction, not so much death. Elliot may have been a villain, but he didn't kill people. He didn't have blood on his hands and he'd like to keep it that way. Of course, he couldn't really say the same for too many villains out there. After all, they were all eager to please the supervillains and prove themselves, but to be honest, Elliot would much rather make a name for himself his way, without causing harm to innocent people... Then again, that might just be because of his mother and father who were innocent people who had never done anything wrong in their lives...
