Pretty simple idea for a topic. What music do you consider the 'theme' for you character(s)? Do you associate certain songs with them, listen to them whilst writing that character? You can choose to talk about why you associate the songs with said character, or what aspects of the character you feel they represent, or even during what situation you could see that music playing for them/in their head?
Also I'll be keeping up with the replies to this thread and adding in the songs (the ones that can be found in the in-built search engine) to the playlist that can be accessed from the image of the Titans Tower in the left side-bar. Feel free to give it a listen! That is why it's there, after all.
KID FLASH
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (I don't think I can articulate why, but this just strikes me so much as Wally's "theme".)
Queen - Flash (I honestly think this is the song that plays constantly in his head. "Flash / Ah-ah / Savior of the universe / Flash / Ah-ah / He'll save everyone of us")
Default - Count On Me (Really cheesy "lean on me" rock song, which seems to fit Wally's general disposition to a 'T'.)
Will Knox - Painted Smile / Three Blind Mice (Okay they're two songs, but they go together. Wally would so love to be the awesomely upbeat KID FLASH!!! all the time, but unfortunately that's not possible. "Can't you see I'm in denial / like a clown that paints his smile / This head's a junkyard gone to pot, / just a milk-tooth left to rot")
ILDON ANOZON
Anberlin - Soft Skeletons (If Ildon ever develops any kind of romantic relationship, this is the song that springs to mind for that moment)
Against All Will - The Drug I Need (Feelings towards an old friend, whom may or may not show up on here later on)
Flyleaf - This Close (Ildon's 'theme')
John Frusciante - Regret
Trust Company - Stronger (Another song that relates to how she feels about aforementioned old friend, as well as doubling for a good descriptor of her motivation)
Chris Cornell - You Know My Name (NOT JUST THE BEST BOND SONG ANYMORE; runner-up for Ildon's theme. Really seems to address her 'stand alone' mentality. "Arm yourself, because no one else here will save you / The odds will betray you, and I will replace you")
HANAKO IKEZAWA
Goo Goo Dolls - All Eyes on Me, As I Am, Before It's Too Late, Better Days, Iris
(I'm not sure if it's just because I was listening to too much of them while working on her application, or if the Goo Goo Dolls write a lot of songs with the same general feeling. Regardless, they seem to fit her)
SHIBYOU REN AYLEN
Incubus - Sick Sad Little World (Obvious theme is obvious - seems like a recounting of how Shibyou first decided what the rest of his life was going to be spent working towards)
Finger Eleven - Stay In Shadow (A rocky romance? An ultimate breaking point? I feel it could really go either way: "Stay in shadow / I'll run this world out / Stay in shadow / It's running out of time / Stay in shadow / I want to watch it drown")
Finger Eleven - Lost My Way (Quite possibly hinting at some small self-doubts? Self-affirmation of his morality? Lots of question marks? "The story's old, the black and white, have gone to gray")
ELLA POULIN
(I'll admit that I was going for a theme with Ella; lovesick lyrics and songs either touching upon the idea of love or wholly devoted to it. Somewhat cheesy stuff. There are probably more songs by Bowie that would fit, but I haven't really thought about that too much.)
The Eagles - After The Thrill Is Gone
The Eagles - Desperado
Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name (Between this track and the next one, I'm actually undecided as to which of these better give off the vibe for her character. Leaning towards this one.)
David Bowie - As The World Falls Down
Sting - Be Still My Beating Heart
Cascada - Bad Boy (Duality sure is fun, isn't it?)
