Ugh, she was so bored. Elli had gone… Well, who knew where Elli had gone. He had been there when she woke up, and they had eaten breakfast together and all that, but when she had come out of the shower, there was a note on the kitchen table telling her that he had gone out, and not to wait up for him. Typical Elli behavior, yes, but it still kind of bugged her. Couldn’t he have, ya know, waited until she got out of the shower, so that she could at least say good-bye? Stupid Elli.
So, Angel had been forced to choose what she was up to for that day. One, she could go on a cookie making spree, or maybe bake a cake. She could make magic in the kitchen, no joke, and it had sounded appealing, but without knowing if her friend would be back that day, it wasn’t going to be as much fun. No, she wanted to be able to tease him when he walked by, to purposefully get flour all over his uniform to see him huff, to eat the cookies so fresh out of the oven that they burned both their tongues.
No, cooking was out. So that left wrecking mayhem. Unfortunately, with the way that the Titans were cracking down on the villains, she wasn’t too keen on that one, not without Elli and his teleporting abilities, so she had opted for the third option: Hang out incognito.
So, strapping back her wings underneath her baggy black hoodie with a wince, shaking out her short black hair, and donning a pair of sunglasses, Angel had set out on the town. She was happy that such a simple disguise was able to work for her, honestly, but considering that her wings and eyes were her distinctive features, once those were hidden away, she was all good.
Sticking her hands in her jean pockets as she strolled along, wondering where she was going to go, Angel wasn’t really thinking about where she was going. Not at all. If she was, perhaps the next incident could’ve been avoided.
As it was, she ran right into a person, and, having totally not expected it, blinked, surprised. Before she could even offer an apology, or register who exactly it was that she was facing, luminescent yellow eyes widened as she realized that her sunglasses had fallen off in the process.
Crap, crap, crap… She fought the instinctive urge to dive for said glasses, instead immediately lifting a hand to shield them, looking downward and waiting for the inevitably back reaction. At least she couldn’t be connected with her, well, evil alias. That was the only thing that really comforted her.

she had miss some social cue. It didn't matter. When she turned back to the girl, she felt a pang of concern wash over any silly thoughts she may have had. "Do you need assistance traveling? Have I done any breaking of the bone? I should have been more careful!" [/blockquote][/ul]

Oh, she hadn’t seen her eyes? Phew, that was a good thought, right there. She really didn’t want to have her cover blown, because it would probably require dying her hair in order to regain it. Considering that her hair was already dyed the shade of black that it was, versus her natural blonde, that probably wasn’t a good thing. Angel totally didn’t know all the facts, but she was pretty sure that if you dyed it too much, your hair became brittle… Or something like that. Wasn’t good, anyway, that much she was positive on.
The other’s female voice changing… weirdly, was the best word for it, like something out of Scooby-Doo, caused the villain to blink quizzically behind her hand, and cautiously, she peered out between the cracks. “I’m… fine…” Angelique answered slowly, trying to figure out where she had seen the girl before. She was familiar, yes, but she couldn’t quite place her… And with that horrid outfit, she had to be in disguise. After all, they were nowhere near the beach, and this was not the type of weather to wear that in, casually. Hm… Was that… orange skin? “Don’t worry about it.”
Accepting back her glasses with a “Thanks,” Angel hesitated. The other girl wasn’t looking, and maybe she could slip them on real quick… But that was when the thought hit her, like a light saber dashing right through her middle. Was that… Starfire? One of the Teen Titans? She had actually done pretty well in the classes that concerned them, as it had been interesting, learning about their powers, but that couldn’t be her… could it?
Her indecision, and her thoughts on the (possible) alien in front of her made her torn, and so when the other turned back, her chance was gone to slip on her sunglasses without gaining any notice. Elli wouldn’t be happy.
However, the other’s odd manner of speech cinched it. Who talked like that, honestly? The alien of the Teen Titans did, that’s who. But… would she know who Angel was? She didn’t have as big of an ego as most villains, and she had never really fought the Titans face to face, so chances were that, while she was incognito, the other wouldn’t recognize her, even with her eyes…
Besides, wasn’t Starfire one of the stupid ones? Along with Beast Boy? Yeah, she was pretty sure she could make this work for her. She didn’t ace her political manipulation course for nothing (although it had called for far too many all-nighters for her taste).
“No, I’m fine, really…” Angel said quietly, already laying on the ‘quiet and shy’ look to her. She could do this in her sleep, this was easy. Wasn’t like she was trying to bypass Raven or Robin or… Stone, right?
“I just…” the girl shifted, her body language showing loud and clear that she was uncomfortable, something which was marginally true. She didn’t want her cover to be blown, though there was no way she could really get her glasses on without arousing suspicion (turning away to put them on? Yeah, like that was normal), so she would see them anyway. Best to make it on her terms.
Angel sighed, something that was supposed to be clearly audible, and then removed her hand, glancing up at the one whom she was 90% sure was Starfire (or at least some form of super) with her luminescent yellow eyes, before glancing away, slipping her sunglasses on. “Didn’t want you to see my eyes. Don’t tell anyone, please?”
A slight desperation curdled into her voice, and mentally, the girl thanked her drama teacher. Now to see if she would take the bait…

Starfire gasped. She had not expected to see two brilliant yellow eyes staring right back at her, perhaps because in the sea of humanity, she was surprised to come across someone different from what she had perceived in her time on earth. Humans had a distinctive quality that she found to be quite fascinating. They had this whiteness around the iris and, in addition, a number of colored eyes that were sometimes dressed with a delicate frame- these correction lenses, or so her friends had told her in passing. The girl’s eyes, on the other hand, reminded her of the sun. Bright and disarming. Starfire smoothed her startled expression into one that was warm. “I assure you, I will not unveil your secret. It is safe with me.”
The young Tameranean looked around in hopes that she was the only one who had witnessed what the girl dearly hid from everyone else, and seeing no one turning to stare back -most of the inhabitants moved along nonchalantly- she settled her attention back to the girl. “I believe we cleared the coast.” She had said this almost in a whisper, where she cupped a side of her face and leaned a little closer to transfer the piece of information, before pulling back.
She was a peculiar human but it wasn’t the first time, and certainly not her last, to see an earthling struck by some anomaly. Assuming that she was entirely human and not a mixed race. The brunette reminded her of Red Star, the way his eyes would burn a shade of red when overwhelmed by radiation, only her eyes were a constant light of yellow and though she had seen an abundant amount of curiosities, it did not unsettle her. Quite the contrary. Starfire eased herself back, nonplussed by her eyes, other than to showcase some form of interest- a peaked curiosity to be fair but if she had any intentions in posing a question around her eyes, she did not do so, believing that it would only add to her blatant discomfort. Not to mention, it was rude to ask about ones scars unless there was a sense of familiarity. So instead, Starfire posed a different question- one that she believed was acceptable for her to ask without crossing any lines.
“I do not wish to intrude but I find myself curious to know where you are going? Perhaps I could assist you in some way.”

…And there was a gasp. No matter how much she wanted to look at the girl, wanted to see if it was of horror, just surprise, or maybe something else, Angel refused to let herself look at the other, not wanting to give her game away, until she saw the words. Had she been what the other thought she was, a meta-human desperately trying to hide her secret, she would’ve sighed in relief, and Angel did so, though it was for two reasons: One, it kept up her act, and two, she was relieved that this had to be Starfire, and that she just hadn’t revealed herself to a random civilian. Most wouldn’t accept it that easily. “Thanks,” she told the other, speaking quietly, for she felt that if she spoke any louder, the triumph in her voice would leak through.
Now, that begged the question: What was she going to get the other to help her do? Should she just worm her way into her confidences, and use such a connection in the future? Or should she use this as a one-time pop, convincing the other that someone had taken something from her or something, and then having her steal it ‘back’? Decisions, decisions…
Her musings on the matter were interrupted by the (obvious, it was so obvious) alien’s words, and involuntarily, she let out a slight snort, quirking a smile that she couldn’t resist hiding, at the way she butchered the phrase. It was just too perfect! Maybe she’d use that in her own speech, sometimes? Added a bit of a spice to the words. But it just proved to her that she was right: Starfire was stupid, or, at minimum, easily manipulated. Either way didn’t matter, though she did hope it was the latter. Stupid people weren’t as much fun to mess with and be around. Maybe if they thought you were going to kill them, and they were, say, begging for their life, but… In the case of a hero whose mind she was just going to mess with, it’d be much better if they were just easily manipulated. “Ah, good,” Angel spoke, voice returning to quietness (it was so hard to be quiet, ugh, but if she were louder, it would probably be too easy for ‘Angel the villain’ to shine through, though she inwardly snorted at the alien’s choice of phrasing. ‘Cleared the coast’? She’d totally have to use that sometime.
When the other, Starfire, spoke, Angel made up her mind. Considering that she didn’t exactly have a plan for what she would do when it came to tricking the other, she could play along for now and pretend to be a scared little meta-human. Heroes were totally suckers for that. “I’m not going anywhere in particular,” she replied quietly, and inwardly the girl cringed. God, she sounded like some mousy little bookworm, she’d never live it down if any of her friends saw her like this… “Just… wandering around.”

She looked so sad and alone. Starfire could only remember the way her silky looked when left alone for too long, and in that stranger, she saw something similar. ‘I too know how it feels to be so alienated,’ she wanted to say, hoping that in some small way she could comfort the scared meta-human in front of her. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling. Having people stare at you oddly. For that matter, she was not used to the staring, in general, or the pointing of the finger (such was an insult in her planet). In Tamaran, things were painstakingly different. A lot had to do with her linage and her family background, the crisis in her home world, and the importance of royalty and somehow, falling into a routine of Earthly mannerisms was not hard after the first few months where she poured over the many cultures of earth. It had pained her at first. It scarred her too. There was a mix of emotions that she could only imagine reflected on the girl who also hid behind glasses.
When the stranger spoke, looking forlorn, Starfire’s eyes brightened up.
“Oh, joyous!” she clasped her hands together, “perhaps we can both go to the mall and look at the windows of display?” She said this, not because she needed someone to hang out with (though the company would have been pleasant), but because she honestly felt it would console the girl. The mall was glorious! After all. The alien made a grab for her hand and started walking in the general direction of the mall, “we could go try out clothes and ride the steps that move.” I will edit and add on to this! And if in case you don't approve of Star holding Angel's hand, I could always edit that. (:
