Well, you see... Once I was on a forum that used Skype as an additional cbox. It was pretty cool. What would you guys think about having a Skype group chat? Group video chats cost money, so we wouldn't be doing that anyways, in case you were worried. Voice chat and IMing for groups is free though, but the former isn't at all necessary if it makes anyone uncomfortable.
So, what do you guys think? Would you all like to do something like that, or keep Room to Grow on Room to Grow? |

Interesting idea. The voice chat thing might be fun, but isn't the point of regular IMing kind of already covered by the two cboxes we have here on the site?

The idea is not too bad. But I do not think I could be a part of it. I mean I got a webcam with a mic and my computer can handle it but unfortunately I am at my folks house at the moment and the noise would bother them. Plus I feel showing my real voice could possibly break the illusion of the voices people imagined my characters to have. I may consider it at some point though but for now I'll have to skip. Sorry, but I do think it is an interesting idea and maybe some of you guys can try it out!

Yes, but I always found Skype a bit more convenient, especially for those who use their phone sometimes to chat. Plus, there's the benefit of message editing, not having to refresh, and of course, real time private IMing between just two people.

With all due respect and no offense intended, you are kind of missing the point. Again, video and voice would be a side factor, not a necessity. The main function would be simple IMing.
Of course, it was just a suggestion. Not necessary whatsoever, I was just interested in getting everyone's opinion. |

I supposed I missed that part. But why IM? I haven't noticed any real typos in the cboxes here that made the sentence impossible to understand. Private IM sounds like a decent idea though. But I think I will just stick to traditional posting. But the idea is not bad or anything.

I'd like to preface this by saying that I've had no prior experience with Skype itself. Aside from that, I've got absolutely no problem with it being used as a secondary/alternate chat for the board and it's members as long as the majority want the option provided to them.

Sounds like fun! Need to adjust my schedules a bit, naturally, but one of the bonuses of shiftwork is sometimes I get to stay up longer. But I'm be interested! Lord knows I need the practice in speaking English. >_>
