General: Her robe's hood often shadows most of her face, and with the heavy cape covering most of her body she often gives more of a 'creepy' feel than she intends to.
PERSONALITY: Raven is one of the most mysterious characters throughout the Teen Titans series. She is cold, quiet, emotionless, studious and sarcastic. She can always come up with a witty remark, specifically in reply to most of Teen Titans' antics and attempts at humor.
Her appearance and attitude appears to be that of a typical modern goth female. However, as much as she may seem distant and anti-social. She's a recluse and sort of to herself. She is, however, also the most emotionally-restrained of the Titans, appearing secretive and distant; she initially does not allow any of her fellow Titans into her room and spends most of her time by herself, usually meditating or reading one of her numerous books.
The reason for her emotional restraint is due to the adverse effects her emotions have on her powers. If her emotions become out of control, her powers can become erratic and spontaneous, becoming active without her will. In the course of the series, however, she gradually, if only slightly, seems to warm up to her teammates. As shown through her quick suspicion of Terra, it is difficult for Raven to build trust for anyone, and even more difficult to truly forgive if that trust should be broken, even not hesitating to kill the one who had betrayed her trust.
Raven is known to sometimes be shocked at trivial things. Despite her seemingly unfriendly attitude, Raven does indeed care greatly about the people she is attached to. She also comes to regard the rest of the Titans as her closest friends and family.
Sometimes Raven is portrayed as the most understanding friend among the Titans. When Cyborg has a problem with his car, Raven is ultimately the only one who approaches and comforts him, even going as far as to assist in rebuilding the destroyed car. Overall, Raven is not coldhearted, it just simply takes longer for her to open up and show her true colors.
After banishing away Trigon, Raven's personality seems to change for the better, as she grows to be less pessimistic and less anti-social. However, she still despises Beast Boy's corny jokes and enjoys reading in solitude, implying that her personality was not affected very much by her semi-demonic origin.
POWERS AND/OR ABILITIES:
Empathic Healing: She can absorb the pain of injured people to ease their suffering, and induce rapid healing.
Levitation: Raven can levitate of the ground and fly, without visible projection of her dark energy as is shown when she utilizes telekinesis. Her power is also sufficient to enable her to counter the gravitational pull of other planets.
Empathy: Raven possesses the power to absorb emotions, enabling her to feel the feelings of others.
Soul-Self: Raven can manifest her "Soul-Self" through astral projection. It normally takes the form of either her human shape or a giant raven.
Astral Projection: Through the use of her soul-self, Raven can project her consciousness into the mind, for therapeutic purposes (to aid in her own meditation, or to help calm an agitated ally), or for offensive attacks, rendering her enemies unconscious.
Teleportation: It also serves as a way to travel into other dimensions. Using her soul-self, she can teleport herself and others over vast distances.
Multilingualism: Raven is fluent in several languages including English, German, Latin, Romanian, Ancient Sumerian, and Sanskrit.
Occultism: Raven is well-versed in the occult and is familiar with mystical rites from both her home dimension as well as Earth
Metaphysical abilities
Limited Precognition: Raven possesses the ability to see into the future, however this is greatly limited. Her visions are often unclear, unprompted, and there is viable evidence Raven is actually unaware she possesses this ability.
Magic: Raven demonstrates on several occasions her ability to use magic, and is well versed in the arcane arts through numerous sources.
WEAKNESSES:
Demonic Heritage: Raven's father was a demon of significant power, and due to this Raven herself possesses only slightly diluted demon blood. She suffers from lesser versions of various demonic weaknesses, such as iron, sacramental objects, or scared relics. In addition such things as demon wards, infernal repellents and curses specific to demonic creatures all apply to Raven, with lessened effect.
Demonic Fury: Raven possesses the fury of a demon, and must undergo regular meditation rituals to control this and other incarnations of her emotions. Most if not all other than her rage are generally docile complaint and quiet sociable, while her rage, or 'Red Raven' enjoys destruction for destruction's sake, torment and torture for the simple act, and the agony, both physical and mental, of others.
Physical Strength: Raven possesses very little physical strength, and robed of her powers she is near useless in a physical conflict.
GOALS:
Saving The World
Finding a way to beat what's inside of her
HISTORY:
Little is known of the precise circumstances in which Raven was conceived by Trigon and Arella, her birth parents in the Teen Titans series, but at some point, Raven left the safety of her birthplace, Azarath to go to that of her mother's, Earth. Apparently Trigon had already mated with Arella, who somehow reached Azarath to help herself and her daughter and to spare Earth, likely with the aid of the benevolent monk Azar, part of the ancient mystic order who first banished the demon. Raven's childhood on Azarath was mostly spent training with the monks in the art of meditation and magic in order keep the powers she inherited from her father under control, as such she was forced to repress any intense emotion resulting in a stoic demeanor and unemotional personality.
Raven later tells the Titans that she knew of the prophecy and her fate for her "whole life", revealing that even as a child, she was aware of her terrible destiny and the identity of her father. Raven also possessed her current guise, robes, chakra and red gem, prior to her meeting of the Teen Titans, though did not seem to possess anything more at the time of the meeting; somehow she attained many other ancient tomes and mystical items and ingredients after her joining.
Raven for some reason arrived in Jump City, a large city near the coast of California, which was in a state of turmoil due to an invasion initiated by the Gordanian race who were seeking the escaped princess Starfire of Tamaran who they were planning to give to the Citadel as a prize. Witnessing the battle between an alien of her mother dimension and a heroic champion of this world, she stopped their conflict, appeared before them and suggested that perhaps violence was not the solution.
Later on the same champion's insistence joining the motley crew into freeing the captured alien (despite her own misgivings due to her differences and dark secrets), essential to the ultimate triumph of the Titans by destroying the mothership of the Gordanians and overwhelming most of them, to be given a Communicator and eventually fully join the superhero group, seeking to repent for her father's sins and to fight evil to make up for the inevitable evils she herself would one day be forced to inflict on the dimensions of both Earth and Azarath.

Raven took in a long breath and closed her eyes, a light humming coming through her throat as she swayed to her own meditation. It wasn't until Raven heard a loud pounding on her door that she broke concentration. The steely eyed woman let a low growl escape her throat before going to stand, her navy blue cape wrapped firmly around herself as she floated her way to the door, a low sigh escaping her throat. "What now?"
Expecting Beast Boy or Cyborg to be at her door, she cocked a brow in confusion, the rest of her features painted a melancholy shade as the doorway appeared to be completely abandoned. "You know you can't play ding dong ditch inside...right?" Her voice went up a slight octave as she ghosted from her room, her crystal gaze lazying over the hallway that still seemed to be empty. "Maybe Robin knows what's going on."
Making her way out of her room and heading for the main living room, Raven noticed that too, was empty. Frowning out now, she tilted her head to the side as if listening for any sign of her teammates and friends. Pursing her lips together as she stopped in the kitchen, noting something was definitely off now since she couldn't find Beast Boy in the kitchen. Just about to make a snappy remark to herself, the lights immediately cut off. Portraying no real emotion, she merely sighed out. "Great."
